During the summer, I will be teaching at the Northwest YMCA in Torrington, and at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Thomaston. I resume remote teaching on Zoom in August.
If you would like to schedule a class with me, either on line or in person, please contact me.
I began to learn how to meditate as a young adult coping with a stressful lifestyle. Meditation and yoga were my lifelines as I trained as an architect, married, raised a child, and built a career in architecture.
I found that a slow, mindful practice of yoga had many of the same benefits as seated meditation.
I received certification as a 200 hour RYT from the Yoga Alliance in July of 2015, My final project focused on the benefits of yoga for survivors of trauma. Since then I've continued my studies in yoga practice and philosophy, with a special interest in subtle and yin yoga. I received my 500 hour YTT certification in May of 2021.
The pace of my classes is slow and deliberate, offering students time to focus on refining the postures and coordinating them with their breath. This kind of mindful practice is both energizing and relaxing. It builds not only physical strength and flexibility, but also mental and emotional resilience.
